The Miami Dade Police Department Training Bureau, under the name of the Metropolitan Police Institute (MPI), functions as a state certified training facility tasked with providing training to all law enforcement agencies in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties (Region XIV).
Providing training for Region XIV law enforcement professionals is an integral part of Training Bureau operations. The Training Bureau seeks to provide new and innovative training programs for Region members.
Region XIV training is regulated by State of Florida guidelines, and is funded entirely by first dollar funds (the first dollar of every ticket written state-wide).
