Violent crimes usually result in bloodshed. When liquid blood is acted upon by physical forces, patterns will be deposited on the various surfaces and items at the crime scene as well as the clothing worn by the individuals present during the activity. These patterns can yield valuable information concerning the events which led to their creation. The information can then be used to reconstruct the incident, and to evaluate the statements of witnesses and crime participants.
This 44-hour course will instruct the student in identifying bloodstain pattern evidence at the crime scene. They will learn how to properly interpret, document, preserve and reconstruct bloodstain pattern evidence. Attendees receive a copy of Bloodstain Pattern Analysis With an Introduction to Crime Scene Reconstruction, Third Edition by Bevel and Garner with their paid tuition.
